If you have a dusty home, researchers are indicating that it may be time to call iRestify because the dust in your home may be increasing your body fat. How’s that for a sales pitch? Allow us to explain.
Researchers at Duke University say that they have found a link between dust and fat-cells and the statistics show that dust can absolutely contribute to weight gain. The study confirmed that exposure to chemicals in the home can change the metabolism in your cells. In other words, dust, which is a collection of different chemicals and elements contain endocrine disruptors which affects your hormones. It turns out the chemicals found in dust can damage reproductive systems, the human thyroid, metabolic rates, the heart and these scientists are also examining if there is a link between dust and cancer.
These chemicals exist all around us in things such as plastic, cosmetics, packaging, and these harmful chemicals live in dust. We breathe them in and this could have detrimental consequences to our health. Duke scientists are pushing for more research to be done but for now, they’re recommending you do everything to ensure that your home is free of dust. These researchers also recommend not using a feather duster (you’re going to end up breathing in these chemicals) however they suggest using water and a sponge to remove dust from the home.
